Job Title: Senior Computer Vision Scientist Location : San Diego, CA (Remote) Duration: Long Term Contract Job Description: The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in computer vision techniques, specifically in object detection, recognition, and object tracking. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including AI leads, ML engineers, and product owners, to develop cutting-edge solutions that impact millions of lives worldwide. The Senior Computer Vision Scientist will directly report to the Head of AI. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize computer vision algorithms for image and video processing targeting object detection, recognition, and tracking. Algorithm optimization for implementation on server and/or embedded systems with constraints, such as limited memory, integer math, tight power budgets. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computer vision and machine learning to incorporate best practices and novel approaches. Work with the broader team to understand the objectives of the project, translate concept/solution ideas in PoCs, and products. Capable of understanding the trade-offs between performance, efficiency and meeting requirements while selecting image processing methodology. Collaborate with a cross-functional team to drive product development. Mentor junior team members and act as a technical lead for one or multiple projects. Develop testing procedures, programming, and documentation. Debug software. Connect with KOLs and vendors to drive progress. Capable of translating complex topics to simple presentations for the broader team. Qualifications: Ph. D degree with at least 2 years or a MSc degree with at least 4 years of applied research experience. 4+ years of experience in developing computer vision algorithms. Extensive programming experience in Python, C++ and/or Java. Deep knowledge of computer vision and machine learning/deep learning algorithms and architectures. Including: YOLO, CNN, etc. Proficiency in using Computer Vision libraries (OpenCV) and Deep Learning frameworks (TensorFlow or Pytorch). Experience with cloud services such as Azure or AWS.
