From browsing the website to purchasing in store, their team ensures the reliability and performance of systems across platforms, including Kubernetes based Kosmos and Cloud Foundry. Key Responsibilities: Distributed System Automation and Maintenance: Design, implement, and manage distributed systems with a focus on automation and scaling, using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and GitHub Actions. Enhance system resilience through automation and proactive monitoring. Advanced Troubleshooting and System Diagnostics: Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills, using the Linux CLI to analyze logs, monitor system health, and diagnose issues. Perform system diagnostics using POSIX/UNIX utilities like top, free, ps, and dmesg and manipulate filesystems effectively. Virtual Machine and Cloud Infrastructure Management: Manage and troubleshoot virtual machines on vSphere and vCenter environments. Work with cloud APIs, supporting the integration and management of hybrid cloud environments. Large Distributed System Deployment and Reliability Engineering: Utilize DevOps and SRE practices to deploy and maintain robust, distributed systems. Monitor load balancing, conduct capacity planning, and maintain zero-downtime operations. Programming and Scripting: Read, analyze, and troubleshoot application code, particularly in Golang. Develop and maintain automation scripts in BASH for process improvements and streamlined operations. Project Leadership and Mentorship: Lead engineering projects from inception to completion, collaborating across teams. Mentor junior engineers, sharing best practices and guiding their technical development. Platform-Specific Maintenance and Optimization: Oversee critical on-premises platforms, including Cloud Foundry and Kosmos, a Kubernetes-based solution, ensuring peak performance and reliability. Preferred Skills and Experience: Extensive experience maintaining and optimizing large-scale, distributed web-serving systems. Strong knowledge of load balancing, scalability, and capacity planning.
