Description: Position Justification A Technical Architect for the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) Public Health CDC grant is required to design and oversee the implementation of technology solutions aimed at modernizing MDHHS public health data systems. This role involves close collaboration with the DMI Director, Data Strategy Administrators, and other stakeholders within Public Health Administration, and is crucial to achieving successful data modernization. Position Summary The responsibilities of this role include: Developing a technical roadmap for data modernization aligned with CDC s vision and priorities. Architecting robust, scalable, and secure data systems capable of meeting the needs of modern public health surveillance. Driving innovative solutions to improve data collection, analysis, and dissemination for enhanced MDHHS public health decision-making. Providing technical guidance and support to MDHHS to ensure the effective use of modern data technologies. Required Skills Education: Bachelor s degree in computer science, IT, software engineering, or a related field. Technical Proficiency: Programming, database management, system design, networking, cloud services, DevOps practices, and cybersecurity. Experience: Hands-on experience in roles like software developer, systems analyst, or network engineer.
