JOB TITLE: Systems Analyst III BI/Workday LOCATION: FULLY REMOTE(100% Remote (Must reside in Wisconsin or be willing to relocate prior to start) Client: University of Wisconsin - Madison (Libraries and Technology Applications Development Team) Contract Overview UW-Madisons Office of Data, Academic Planning & Institutional Research (DAPIR) seeks a Systems Analyst III with expertise in data and systems analysis to support the integration of Workday into the university's data ecosystem. The role will involve analyzing the impact of Workday changes on data warehouses, reporting, and analysis tools, and developing retrofit recommendations. Key Responsibilities Impact Analysis: Evaluate data changes from Workday implementation on data warehouses (Oracle, Snowflake), Tableau reporting, and ancillary systems. Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with DAPIR teams and stakeholders to gather and document system requirements, perform fit/gap analyses, and produce user stories. Testing Coordination: Develop test plans, lead system testing with stakeholders, and assist users in system testing and validation. Documentation & Retrofitting: Update system documentation and recommend retrofits for downstream systems to align with Workday integration. Collaboration: Work closely with UW departments to support pre- and post-Workday implementation activities, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of data services. Required Skills (8+ Years) Systems Analysis & Technical Documentation: Experience as a Systems Analyst or Technical Business Analyst with a background in requirement gathering, system recommendations, and managing a project or production backlog. Data & Analytics Proficiency: Strong background in data management, analytics, and experience with complex SQL or Python for system analysis and testing. Testing & Quality Assurance: Ability to guide users through testing and validate system changes through structured test plans. Preferred Skills Higher Education Experience: Familiarity with university systems or data processes. Workday Implementation: Previous experience with Workday ERP or similar data transformation projects. Data Migration Expertise: Knowledge in data migration, source mapping, and data cleansing. Informatica IICS: Experience with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services. Testing Knowledge: Familiarity with smoke, quality, and system testing protocols. Project Details The role supports the transition from PeopleSoft to Workday, anticipated to go live on July 1, 2025, for HR and finance operations. The Systems Analyst III will play a pivotal role in preparing downstream systems and data warehouses to function seamlessly in the new Workday environment, ensuring data integrity and reporting continuity.
