Client excels in meeting the needs of our partners (clients) by offering advanced technology solutions utilizing our industry specific knowledge, iterative Agile approach, our commitment, and passion to serve, collaborative and fun team atmosphere, and pride in our work. Our Database Engineer position is great for an individual who is self-motivated, has a love of learning, and is collaborative. In this position you will help drive data management, lead in the creation of databases, including design, implementation, and optimization. You will contribute to the maintenance and administration of data models, participate in client-driven mapping sessions, and collaborate with the Agile team. Responsibilities: Importing and exporting data between different database languages Develop and manage performant Postgres database to support conservation analytics platform Develop scalable data integrations, develop complex back-end queries using Postgres and/or PostGIS Develop and maintain robust and accurate end-to-end knowledge of business processes and application procedures Data modeling, normalization, and conceptual and logical design Regularly archive source code in GIT, code repository, for projects Collaborate with the Product team in creation of Acceptance Criteria for stories following Agile practices Collaborate with other developers to share knowledge and improve overall product/solution 4+ years of experience using PostgreSQL to support high performant data analytics platform 4+ years experience with PostgreSQL data tuning, permissions management Required Skills/Experience: PostGIS Strong SQL skills for data querying and manipulation, including spatial queries Familiarity in data engineering concepts including ETL, processing, data warehousing, and data modeling Experience using ETL tools and frameworks for data pipeline development Experience working with database tools in AWS (S3, DMS, EC2) Strong communication and collaboration skills Experience with big data computing Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent job-related experience required Preferred experience: Experience working with NRCS conservation datasets Experience leveraging PostGIS for geospatial integration and automation Experience with QGIS and ESRI for visualizing geospatial data Experience publishing services and creating web mapping applications using open-source web mapping or ESRI web mapping platforms. Experience in FME model development Experience in Python Experience with Liquibase or any equivalent database deployment tool.
