Role: Instant Payments Product Manager Location: 100% Remote Duration: 6+ Months Qualifications: 5-10 years Product Management experience and technology (e.g., online channels, Transaction Banking/Payments) Deep understanding of RTP and Fed Now requirements, operating rules, and format specifications Experience translating client needs into business and technical requirements. Strong written and oral communications skills including ability to build and deliver effective presentations succinctly or in detail, depending on the audience Ability to work well in a team environment Background in cross border payments is desired Ability to learn quickly and independently, and to share knowledge with team Ability to leverage and analyze data to identify market opportunities Spanish language skills are a plus Experience with blockchain technologies is a plus Position Overview: Our client in the commercial banking industry is seeking an Instant Payments Product Manager (IPPM) who will be responsible for developing and delivering new payment types or processes in line with industry developments, competitor developments, and the needs of clients. The primary products that the IPPM will oversee are domestic US instant payment capabilities that include The Clearing House Real Time Payments system (RTP) and the Federal Reserves FedNow system. Additionally, the IPPM will cover cross-border instant payments solutions, such as IXB, as/when this gathers industry momentum. The IPPM develops and executes payment strategies in conjunction with the Head of Transaction Banking Product Management, payments partners in the CBB/Digital, Commercial and CIB Lines of Business, as well as functional partners including IT, Operations, Marketing, Risk, Compliance, and strategic third-party providers (such as Pago NXT). Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the development of a strategic product roadmap for instant payments that supports the needs of our clients, is on par with or distinguished from competitor offerings, and is aligned with the strategic plans of SBNA. This includes developing business cases in support of the strategic goals. Develop product specifications and business requirements for new products to deliver the strategic product roadmap, with initial focus on RTP. Manage the implementation and launch of RTP and FedNow to support US market clients. Understand and actively manage the risks associated with instant payments products. Actively manage the P&L of instant payments products, ensuring full visibility to costs and ROI. Where appropriate, explore other emerging payments opportunities, including services leveraging blockchain and/or digital assets and near-term, innovative approaches as interim solutions. Understand deeply how our clients use our products, and how we deliver value for them. Understand the capabilities of our bank and non-bank competitors and deliver product strategies that position us favorably in the market. Work with Marketing partners to build effective market launch / go-to-market programs Build strong relationships with client-facing teams to ensure they fully understand the value of our payments products and how to position them with clients Leverage data analysis and market intelligence to bring new ideas forward. Align closely with Client Service & Onboarding to build and maintain a strong client experience.
