This role requires a technical expert who can collaborate within a team, design solutions, and lead engineering efforts. Strong soft skills are necessary, including thought leadership and the ability to navigate ambiguity.Primary Responsibilities: 1. Solution Design and Implementation Develop and modify complex software solutions, including coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining solutions. Utilize Java, SQL Server, Kafka, and GitHub in a DevOps environment with Openshift. Design solutions within the team's core framework and apply technical knowledge to achieve customer-centered outcomes. Independently solve complex problems while collaborating effectively within a team. 2. Technical Leadership and Collaboration Provide thought leadership by partnering with Architects and Engineers to design and implement solutions. Engage in product planning, problem-solving, and technical collaboration sessions. Mentor and coach junior developers, sharing technical knowledge and providing training. Lead smaller engineering efforts and contribute to larger enterprise-wide projects. 3. Legacy System Modernization Modernize and reengineer legacy processes, making decisions on rewriting or migrating applications to new platforms. Actively problem-solve in ambiguous situations, developing new patterns and solutions for older applications. 4. DevOps and Continuous Learning Participate in DevOps support rotation, building knowledge on subsystems. Continuously seek opportunities to learn new technologies that improve the product lifecycle. 5. Team Collaboration and Problem-Solving Work within a collaborative team environment, contributing to solution-oriented discussions. Be proactive, outspoken, and willing to share ideas, solutions, and technical expertise.Required Qualifications: Experience: 9+ years in Software Engineering with a focus on new development, design, and higher-level engineering responsibilities. Technical Skills: Java SQL Server Kafka Test Automation GitHub Openshift Both Cloud and On-Premises Development Soft Skills: Thought leadership, flexibility, and the ability to navigate ambiguity. Secondary Skills (Nice to Haves): Cloud, DevOps Additional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent experience). Strong understanding of SDLC and industry-standard practices. Ability to debug complex code and analyze product defects. Proficiency in querying databases for data lookup and updates.
