| Spruce InfoTech INC is looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer for a twelve (12) month contract with our client in Westmont, IL. The position is part of an existing Data Engineering & Support group that is onboarding the clients large-scale end customers to a proprietary digital data platform based in MS Azure and Databricks. Each environment is highly customized and therefore requires careful engineering, delivery, and post Go Live support to meet the SLAs. The Engineer will participate in Agile team activities related to implementing solutions for new customers, rolling out features and troubleshooting to existing customers, as well as providing timely support on any technical issues. Candidates must also demonstrate deep overall skills with the MS Azure platform, including but not limited to Azure SQL, Data Lake Storage, Databricks, Blob Storage, Data Factory (ADF), Kubernetes (AKS), etc. Broad expertise in cloud Data Warehousing and DevOps best practices is considered a plus. Key Responsibilities: Perform technical engineering, development, implementation and support tasks within an Agile Engineering team. Work independently on data engineering assignments related to customer implementations and onboardings of cloud-based ETL, Analytics, BI Reporting, and other data solutions. Complete assigned tasks within SLA parameters consistently. Strong technical understanding of how data flows into and within the cloud data system. Apply data warehousing, data lake, managed database concepts to engineering and enhancement tasks in the platform Able to work with remotely located resources, onshore and offshore, daily and a larger matrixed IT organization distributed globally (Asia, Europe, North America). Provide input on technical solutions to build re-usable and scalable processes and structures. Qualifications: Minimum 3-5 years of technical work experience with cloud data engineering and integration. Bachelors degree in Information Science or similar field. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience providing L3 support to end customers. Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and its suite of Data Services Azure Managed Databases / Azure SQL Azure Databricks Azure Data Factory (ADF) Azure Data Lake (ADL) Azure Blob Storage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) Good background with data warehousing and dimensional modeling, data architecture, data integration/ETL, and business intelligence. Reliable, self-motivated, and self-disciplined individual capable of planning and executing multiple projects simultaneously within a fast-paced environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing. Excellent technical, analytical and organizational skills.
