Questions: Can you start quickly (Must be YES response) Description: We are seeking a skilled FinOps AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial for optimizing cloud financial management, ensuring cost efficiency, and enhancing the scalability of our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS services, cloud financial operations (FinOps), and a deep understanding of cloud cost management strategies. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Financial Management: Implement and manage cloud cost management tools and practices to optimize AWS expenditures. Monitor and analyze cloud usage and spending to identify cost-saving opportunities. Provide regular reports on cloud spending, forecast future costs, and make recommendations for budget adjustments. Cost Optimization: Work closely with engineering and operations teams to identify and implement cost-saving measures. Develop and enforce cloud cost optimization policies and best practices. Analyze resource utilization and recommend rightsizing, reserved instance purchases, and other strategies to reduce costs. Cloud Infrastructure Management: Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud Engineering teams to design and implement scalable, cost-efficient cloud architectures. Ensure that cloud infrastructure is aligned with business goals and financial constraints. Continuously assess cloud environments for potential risks and inefficiencies. Automation and Process Improvement: Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud cost management processes. Implement tagging strategies and governance models to improve visibility and control over cloud resources. Identify and automate manual processes to reduce operational overhead and improve efficiency. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with finance, procurement, and engineering teams to align cloud spending with organizational goals. Communicate complex cloud financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Act as a subject matter expert for cloud financial operations, providing guidance and training as needed. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on AWS. Proven experience in FinOps or cloud financial management roles. Strong understanding of AWS services and cloud cost optimization techniques. Skills: Proficiency in cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, CloudHealth, CloudCheckr). Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation purposes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, or related certifications are preferred. FinOps Certified Practitioner is a plus.
