Job Title: Network Specialist Location: Dauphin County, PA (Hybrid) Job Type: 6-12 months contract Interview Type: Video Experience Requirements: Network Switching: 4-5 years Network Routing: 3-4 years CCNA: Desired 2-3 years CCNP: Beneficial 1-3 years SD-WAN: Beneficial 2 years Position Requirements: The candidate will provide technical support in planning, designing, maintaining, and integrating local and wide area network infrastructure, with input on the Clients Enterprise networking architecture. This role requires strong communication skills and technical expertise, with extensive experience in large-scale environments. CCNA and CCNP certifications are preferred, but candidates with equivalent hands-on experience are considered. Duties: Support Enterprise networks such as COPA Net and Keystone Net, and manage vendors supporting these networks. Knowledge in installing, configuring, maintaining, and managing network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, Silver Peak SD-WAN, wireless, and cellular-based appliances. Use network management tools to monitor, test, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues, collaborating with users, service providers, and business partners. Act as a vendor liaison, enforcing rules related to SLAs, system upgrades, and testing. Understand LAN/WAN network architecture, including bandwidth analysis and capacity planning, and create detailed engineering drawings for network modifications. Assist in deployments, upgrades, and change management within the edge networking group. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, communicate with networking teams, and evaluate current/future network needs to prepare technical recommendations. Ensure networks meet or exceed OA security standards and maintain technical documentation for troubleshooting. Understand routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF) and network monitoring/automation tools. Engage in the Enterprise Change Management system, submit/review change requests, and communicate scheduled events through Network Notifications. Familiarity with ITIL 4 framework and Service Management Practices, including change, problem, and incident management. Coordinate change management efforts with vendors, Delivery Centers, and network teams. Participate in ServiceNow ticket resolution, ensuring that incidents follow processes and are documented. Communicate effectively with colleagues, vendors, and business partners. Perform additional duties as needed. ADA Requirements: Equipment: PCs, servers, network components, telephones, calculators, printers, cell phones, and common writing tools. Physical requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds and work from a step ladder. Decision Making: Efficient time management and engaging with networking teams as necessary. Success factors include network team performance, network availability/performance, and customer satisfaction. Essential Functions: Obtain and maintain CJIS clearances. Operate telephones and cell phones. Operate PCs, peripherals, servers, and network components. Operate motor vehicles and maintain a valid PA drivers license. Excellent communication skills in English. Read and comprehend technical literature. Lift up to 40 pounds. Analyze and resolve complex technical issues. Stay current with new and emerging network technologies. Provide excellent customer service.
