Responsible for documentation of the system, conduct unit tests, peer code reviews and maintenance of internally developed applications, evaluation and performance testing of purchased products. Responsible for including IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, as well as availability of the application and data processed or output by the application. We enable these markets with all the data they need, across all various domains that exist within the org. Traditionally we had enterprise data warehouse as our data source, but there is also a migration to our new data platform and technologies. We are working to integrate data form all of these areas and build them out to support specific analytical needs and projects. What type of projects will the contractor be working on primarily As we support commercial analytics, we need to bring data from various platforms to our MPS (Netezza) platform. All of that data is co-located so we need to support this platform and do ELT processing (Extract, Load and then transfer). Data is typically stored (stored procedures, advance SQL), UNIX/Linux shell scripts, etc. We are building data within our data platform and will be using Python/Pyspark combined with shell scripting to achieve this. Does it have the potential to be extended or converted to full-time Yes, please include permanent salary requirements on submittals as the manager will be taking that into account when reviewing. What are the primary technical requirements Must have a very strong understating of Unix/Linux Shell Scripting and Advanced SQL (working with large volume data, etc.)). Python/PySpark would be the third main requirement. These are the most important requirements for what we need. As we work with them and they are interested in growing, we will help grow their skills in other spaces Python/Pyspark and Ab Initio. What are the skills that would make the ideal candidate successful in this role Strong SQL (advanced queries, working with large data sets, any ELT or ETL experience would be a plus.
