| Position: Database Tester Location: Hybrid DC/Metro area Type: 12 months+ Long-term Contract GC EAD OPT H4 EAD only Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced Database Tester for a long-term contract with a prominent non-profit organization in the FinTech industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database testing with at least 4 years of overall experience and be proficient in Python or Java, AWS, and Big Data. This role will involve working with complex data systems to ensure data integrity, quality, and performance. Responsibilities : Design, develop, and execute test strategies and plans for database testing to ensure high-quality data output. Write and optimize SQL queries to verify data correctness, validate data mappings, and ensure data integrity. Utilize Python or Java to create automated test scripts and frameworks, enhancing testing efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business analysts to understand data requirements and design appropriate test cases. Work with Big Data tools and AWS services to perform data validation and quality checks in cloud environments. Perform root cause analysis on data issues, working to identify, document, and resolve data discrepancies. Maintain and enhance test environments for effective database testing in both on-premise and cloud (AWS) settings. Monitor database performance and provide recommendations for optimization. Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Qualifications : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 4 years of overall experience in database testing. Proficiency in either Python or Java for test automation. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS and Big Data platforms. Experience writing and executing complex SQL queries for data validation. Familiarity with data quality tools and techniques. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with an ability to work independently and in a team. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Preferred Qualifications : Experience in the FinTech industry or with non-profit organizations. Knowledge of additional cloud platforms and Big Data technologies. Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies.
