| Senior SQL Developer Client: Visionsoft Job Type: C2C Location: Remote Industry: [Insert Industry, e.g., Financial Services, E-commerce, Healthcare, etc.]Job Description: Visionsoft is seeking a Senior SQL Developer to join our dynamic and growing team in a remote work environment. As a Senior SQL Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex SQL-based solutions to support critical business applications. With over 8-10 years of experience in SQL development and database management, you will use your expertise to lead the development of high-performance, scalable database systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with complex database architecture, query optimization, ETL processes, and data integrations in both on-premises and cloud environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the database infrastructure is efficient, reliable, and scalable.Key Responsibilities: Database Architecture & Development: Design and develop complex, high-performance SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views to meet business needs. Performance Optimization: Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve database performance bottlenecks by optimizing queries, indexing strategies, and database schema designs. ETL & Data Integration: Design, implement, and manage robust ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data across various systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Scalable Solutions: Architect and implement scalable database solutions that can handle large volumes of data with minimal latency, especially in high-transaction environments. Cloud Database Expertise: Lead the adoption and optimization of cloud database platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google BigQuery) and integrate them with other cloud services as required. Database Security & Compliance: Ensure database security practices align with industry standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with business analysts, developers, and data teams to define and refine database requirements and ensure timely, quality delivery. Mentorship & Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices. Reporting & Analytics: Develop and optimize reporting solutions, using BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS, to provide actionable insights to the business. Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain comprehensive documentation for database designs, ETL processes, and performance tuning techniques.Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience: 8-10+ years of experience as a SQL Developer or Database Architect with a strong focus on performance tuning and high-availability database systems. SQL Expertise: Advanced proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL) and relational database design principles. Complex Query Optimization: Extensive experience in query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis to improve performance in large-scale environments. Database Technologies: Expertise with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc. Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus. ETL & Data Integration: Strong experience with ETL processes and data integration tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend, or custom scripts). Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with cloud-based databases and services such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google BigQuery, or similar cloud platforms. Data Warehousing: Experience designing and managing data warehousing solutions, and working with large data sets. BI Tools: Experience using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, etc.) for reporting and analytics. Security & Compliance: In-depth knowledge of database security protocols and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2). Leadership & Mentoring: Proven experience leading teams, providing mentorship, conducting code reviews, and setting technical standards. Agile Environment: Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments, delivering solutions iteratively and collaborating with cross-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications: Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with Big Data solutions such as Hadoop, Spark, or data lakes is a plus. Advanced Reporting Skills: Strong skills in developing advanced data visualizations and dashboards using modern BI tools. DevOps & Automation: Experience with DevOps principles, database automation, CI/CD pipelines, and using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
