JOB TITLE: Database Administrator (DBA) LOCATION: San Bernardino, CALIFORNIA, 92415-ONSITE(NEED LOCAL CANDIDATE) Client: County of San Bernardino Position Summary The County of San Bernardino is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join their team. This role requires hands-on experience with SQL Server and MySQL administration, performance tuning, high availability solutions, and disaster recovery planning. The DBA will play a critical role in managing database performance, backups, and security, ensuring optimal uptime and resilience. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. Perform MySQL server administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance. Optimize database performance through advanced Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) techniques. Manage backup and restore processes and maintain recovery models to ensure data integrity. Implement and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for SQL Server. Collaborate with the IT team to support Windows Server environments and integrate with Active Directory. Provide recommendations for database infrastructure improvements and proactively address potential issues. Create documentation for processes, configurations, and solutions. Required Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a SQL Server Database Administrator. MySQL Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience in MySQL Server administration. Performance Optimization: Proven experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO). Data Recovery: Extensive experience in backups, restores, and various recovery models. High Availability/Disaster Recovery: 5+ years of experience in implementing and managing HA and DR solutions. Windows Server & Active Directory: 5+ years of experience with Windows Server, including Active Directory integration. Soft Skills: Critical thinking, problem-solving, time-management, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Azure SQL: Experience with Azure SQL is a plus. Certifications: MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications are preferred.
