Job Summary:

Overview:

 We are seeking an experienced
 Data Modeler
 to join our team. As a Data Modeler, your main responsibilities will include reviewing and understanding required data elements, developing and evolving conceptual, logical, and physical data models, and ensuring the implementation of effective data solutions.

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid 3 days a week on-site)

Key Responsibilities:

Review and understand all required data elements to ensure alignment with business needs.

Develop and evolve conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

Understand canonical and XML data models for various applications.

Establish a target data storage solution, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.

Collaborate with Data Stewards to ensure the data model aligns with data policy requirements.

Capture and document metadata for the data model.

Oversee the migration to the target data model and ensure smooth transitions.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelors degree or above in fields such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.

5+ years of relevant work experience in data modeling or related roles.

Required Soft Skills:

Strong ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality work, with the ability to prioritize, adapt, and meet deadlines.

Ability to recommend and implement process control improvements.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to create and deliver clear, concise, and tailored communication for different audiences.

Strong problem-solving skills, asking the right questions and applying context to determine the direction.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in complex data architecture, including data modeling, data science tools, data warehouses, and machine learning.

Proficiency in Dimensional & Relational Data Modeling concepts, including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Fact, and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD).

Experience building data models optimized for large dataset retrieval, analysis, storage, cleansing, and transformation.

Proficiency in industry-standard data modeling tools such as ErWIN, ER Studio, or similar.

Experience with various data storage solutions and understanding their efficient usage.

Ability to translate data requirements into technical designs, considering various storage solutions.

Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and its integration with data modeling.
