This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in iOS development and a passion for building high-quality mobile applications. Below are the details: Job Title: VDOT IT Security Architect Lead Location: 1401 E Broad St, Richmond, VA looking local to VA only Duration: 7 Months Schedule: Hybrid (primarily remote with quarterly in-person meetings) Interview Mode: In-Person Key Responsibilities: Documentation & Reporting: Produce business-oriented documentation, executive summaries, and process narratives. Develop architecture briefs, risk assessments, and reports for non-technical and technical audiences. IT Security & Compliance: Evaluate security compliance, control assessments, and risk analysis. Develop security architecture policies, standards, and procedures aligning with NIST, COBIT, and other frameworks. Research and guide adherence to security policies and controls, ensuring alignment with state and federal standards. Collaboration & Consultation: Work with business units and cross-functional teams to provide data security and risk-averse strategies. Partner with enterprise architects to develop technology roadmaps supporting agency KPIs. Act as a liaison with the Office of Information Security and external consultants for security initiatives. Technical Leadership: Design and implement enterprise security patterns, assess vulnerabilities, and advise on security measures. Monitor IT compliance, review change proposals, and contribute to security strategy and design guidance. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience and Knowledge: 7+ years in information security, IT governance, and compliance. 7+ years of experience in security best practices, IT risk management, and business writing. Proficiency in information security frameworks such as NIST-800 series, COBIT, and Cybersecurity Framework. Significant experience in developing and implementing security architecture policies, standards, and procedures. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in at least two security areas: Cloud security, IAM, Vulnerability Management, firewalls, computer forensics, databases, web services, and mail services. Ability to assess IT environment compliance, perform control evaluations, and document risk. Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work with various levels of management and external entities to drive security alignment. Strong ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and acquire new skills based on project requirements. This position is ideal for an experienced security architect with a strong background in security compliance, IT governance, and cross-functional collaboration in a government setting.
