Job Title : Release Manager Location: Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, Seattle area Duration: 6-12 Months Start Date: ASAP Role Description Technical Release Management Job Description Required Skills: Define, plan and manage release life cycle in an Agile framework Plan the deployment of application components/microservices with related deliverables Communicate the release-related tasks such as plans, timelines, requirements. Act as liaison between different teams, organizations, and stakeholders. Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon the third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates. Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage/mitigate them, such that the scope scheduled, quality of the release and end customer experience is not affected. Uncover issues and track the progress. Always working to improve the process of the release. Make sure that the release is planned, according to the requirements and budget. Schedule the release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release. Create plans for the implementation and deployment as per the release schedule. Continually provide status on the release activities Communicate with release managers from different IT departments as needed when working across projects and programs. Lead deployment activities to deploy the software successfully including clearly documented run books, point of contacts and mitigation decisions and plans. Team up with relevant development teams responsible for building the automation tools used to develop and deploy the software. Lead/host meetings to discuss the release schedules with the team and identify any roadblocks. Supports technical teams by engaging on call or resources required to resolve issues; monitor and control changes to the release and deployments Maintain information, leveraging tools and data related to build, test and release activities. Make improvements in the methodologies used for change management, development and delivery of software features, functionality, enhancements and hot fixes. Desired Skills Responsibilities: Experience and SME knowledge in one or more areas such as development, testing, system architecture, or software configuration and deployment Specific tools knowledge Microsoft Application Development Operations (MS ADO), Jira iTrack, Power BI, Salesforce. Understand the design and interfaces for specific components of applications/microServices in a release management portfolio. Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the system solution and explore alternatives Engage with portfolio stakeholders, Solution and Enterprise Architects, to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of tech enablers or applications/microServices in release portfolio Participate in project planning, system and solution demos, retrospective workshops Ability to communicate to executive leadership, business leaders as well as technical stakeholders Provide guidance to partners and stakeholders for successful deployments and releases including the ability to lead and influence team members without direct supervision. Advance the Release Management practice with industry best practices. Drive release management process and tool transformation leading to on demand, independent component deployments.
