The Technical Specialist is a senior-level resource with specialized knowledge and experience. The position will serve as the contract Technical Lead assigned to the NCCRIS project. This role will serve on the Enterprise Test Team and will assist IT Management at all levels with the delivery and support of software testing disciplines across NCDOT-T. This position will advise on best practices of processes and industry standards for software testing and support at an enterprise level. The Technical Lead will advise on NCCRIS project testing activities including Component Integration, system Integration, Regression, Performance and Disaster Recovery Testing. The position requires a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with management across all levels. 70% Technical Lead/Application Support Direct and coordinate the completion of activities required to implement, maintain, and support moderate to complex testing disciplines Direct and coordinate the creation of Scripts using programming languages supported by the Micro Focus Software Testing Suite, supporting the functional and performance testing requirements for the NCDOT-Transportation Enterprise applications. Direct and coordinate the needed SQL queries to support data needs for business users and testing requirements, adhering to security processes for data sensitivity. Facilitate the acceptance of new software testing discipline across the enterprise. Coordinate quality control live cycle activities for the testing service projects, which includes monitoring project scope and change control processes. projects. 20% Planning/Organization Collaborate with all levels of IT management to develop plans to meet NCDOT-T/NCCRIS Project needs for software testing disciplines Collaborate with all levels of IT Management to contribute to the strategic direction of the organizational unit Research and maintain a current understanding of available and evolving software testing tools, processes and techniques related to technological trends. Assist IT Manager with collecting, organizing and communicating service-related information through dashboards, reports, etc. 10% Professional Growth Self-improvement to ensure continual technical and personal growth Skills: Knowledge of specific agency functions and business needs; of changes in computer technology and specific application systems Required 15 Years Experience in a leadership role leading a group testing business web applications and complex business applications across technologies Required 15 Years Experience in a leadership role leading a group or team designing test plans, manual test case definition and test case execution Required 15 Years Experience in a leadership role leading a group or team using OpenText Testing Tools Suite (ALM, UFT, LoadRunner/Performance Center and SiteScope Required 15 Years Ability to think analytically and effectively communicate actionable results for test analysis, issues identified and proposed resolutions to team.Required 15 Years Able to react and reorganize work assignments of lower-level test team staff and adapt their workload to changes in the project requirements Required 15 Years Graduation from a 4-year college or university with a B.S.
