| SCOPE The selected Contractor will provide a skilled Network Architect to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), specifically for the Office of Agriculture Technology Services (OATS), Infrastructure Operations team. This professional will review the current network design and strategy and propose improvements to align with best practices for security and operational efficiency, both on-premises and in the cloud. The Network Architect will also work on enhancing segmentation strategies, system hardening, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical information supporting the FDACS mission. Additionally, they will support the telecommunications team in migrating the departments phone system to a cloud-managed instance. The candidate must complete the tasks and deliverables outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW) for this role. Qualification Requirements for Contractors Candidate Minimum Qualifications: Experience: At least 7 years of IT experience in infrastructure and network environments, focusing on network planning, architecture design, hardware/software engineering, and network optimization. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with department staff. Technical Skills: Proficient in designing Layer 2 and Layer 3 network architectures. Experienced in maintaining and troubleshooting network routing and switching. Skilled in configuring and managing Next Generation Firewalls. Preferred Experience: Network Assessment: Background in assessing network topology and architecture. Wireless Design: Experience in designing, managing, and troubleshooting wireless infrastructure. Zero Trust Architecture: Familiarity with designing Zero Trust Architecture. Telephony/VoIP: Expertise in hybrid and cloud telephony/VoIP architecture and design. Azure Networking: Knowledge in Azure network architecture, design, and hardening. Palo Alto Hardware: Experience with Palo Alto firewall hardware. Remote Access Solutions: Proficiency with remote access solutions. Educational Qualifications (meet at least one of the following): Degree: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent Experience: A comparable amount of relevant work experience. Schedule Requirements: Any time-off requests or schedule changes must be pre-approved by the FDACS contract manager.
