Required Skills & Experience: P roven experience as a (Percona) MySQL Database Administrator with 5 years of experience in Multisite Clustering. Strong knowledge of MySQL database architecture, replication, and clustering technologies. Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing. Must have experience 3+ years of experience with Percona Server for MySQL, Percona XtraDB Cluster, Percona XtraBackup hot backup Additional distributions such as Maria DB or MySQL Enterprise with Galera Cluster or MySQL NDB Cluster desirable. Experience with other database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Orchestrator, ProxySQL, and HAProxy. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation. Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL). Understanding of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in backup and recovery processes and tools. Familiarity with database security best practices. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. This role requires a deep understanding of MySQL clustering, replication, backup, and recovery processes. The position reports to the VP of Global Support and IT. Essential Job Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases and clustering solutions. Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries and indexes. Implement and manage database backup and recovery processes. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Percona Server for MySQL databases using Percona XtraDB Clustering Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations.
