Network engineer

Location: 2929 Walker Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49544    3 days onsite- Locals preferred but someone willing to relocate is also okay

Duration: 12 Months

MOI: Skype

Required:

10+ years in IT Infrastructure Operations, with a focus on network architecture and security.
Lead the design, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Cisco and Juniper routers and switches to ensure optimal network performance and security.
Architect and manage Juniper SRX series firewalls to enforce security policies and protect against cyber threats.
Conduct and oversee comprehensive firewall audits using Firemon to assess and enhance security posture.
Administer Palo alto and Zscaler VPN for secure vendor access to our network resources.
Oversee and streamline firewall management platforms, including Juniper Space/VM and Palo Alto Panorama, to enhance operational efficiency and visibility.
Manage and secure Palo Alto firewalls across data centers, manufacturing sites, and global offices to safeguard network assets and sensitive data.
Implement and optimize Fortinet firewalls to strengthen network security.
Integrate Elastic Search into security operations and vulnerability management processes to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.
Design and implement cloud integration solutions to connect on-premises infrastructure with cloud environments, leveraging technologies such as F5, DDI/IPAM(EfficientIP), VPN/MFA, and Internet Gateways.
Configuration and Management of Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), SDWAN & Juniper MIST SSR Platform.
Management of Wireless controller and APs.
Maintain and optimize core routing and switching infrastructure, including BGP and OSPF protocols, to ensure efficient data flow and connectivity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control and policy enforcement.
Provide support and ensure reliability and uptime of data center infrastructure, including Equinix facilities and DF Data Centers.
Lead incident management processes and ensure effective resolution of network issues.
Drive network automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Manage network inventory and asset management processes to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
Experience in the design and implementation of Network technologies including site preparation, High-level and Low-level Designs.
Experience in network capacity planning, network security principles, and network management best practices.
Excellent leadership and project management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in network automation tools and techniques.
In-depth knowledge of network inventory management and asset management.
Next Generation Datacenter Design including EVPN & VXLAN reference Architectures. Example Juniper, Cisco reference architectures.
Expertise around Device 42 and Chronosphere or other network mgmt. platforms. 

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in network architecture and security engineering, with expertise in Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and Fortinet technologies.
Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco routers and switches.
Hands-on experience with Juniper SRX series firewalls and Firemon firewall auditing tool.
Strong understanding of VPN technologies, particularly Pulse Secure VPN.
Familiarity with firewall management platforms such as Juniper Space/VM and Palo Alto Panorama.
Experience deploying and managing Palo Alto firewalls in enterprise environments.
Knowledge of Fortinet firewall implementation and optimization is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIA, JNCIS, PCNSA, PCNSE, or FCNSP will be advantageous.
