Type: Contract Job Overview: The NYC MTA is looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to manage and support its IT infrastructure with a focus on virtualization, endpoint management, and server administration. The ideal candidate will have strong foundational skills in infrastructure management, along with a security-oriented mindset. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and security of MTA's systems and involves both operational and technical responsibilities within the organization. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain virtualized infrastructure, including VMware and virtual switches. Oversee endpoint credential management to secure user access. Administer, harden, and troubleshoot Active Directory and Windows Server environments to align with security standards. Collaborate with security and IT teams to support secure system configurations and upgrades. Required Skills and Experience: Virtualization and Infrastructure: Experience with VMware and virtual switch technologies. Endpoint Credential Management: Proficiency in managing secure access and credentialing for endpoint devices. Active Directory and Windows Server Administration: Strong background in Windows Server management and hardening practices. Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience: Vulnerability Management: Familiarity with vulnerability and patch management practices. Cybersecurity Response and Detection: Experience in incident response plans and threat/vulnerability assessments. Cisco Networking and Security: Knowledge of Cisco ISE/Stealthwatch, BGP, OSPF, and network segmentation. Physical Security Systems: Exposure to Physical Access Control Systems and Video Management Systems. OT Environment Security Tools: Familiarity with tools like Forescout for securing OT environments. Deception Technology: Knowledge of implementing honeypots and honeynets. Network and Data Analysis Tools: Experience with data analysis and network monitoring tools such as Nozomi, TDI, and Gigamon. Other: Knowledge of Privileged Access Management, AAA, DWDM, and SONET. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3-5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator, with expertise in infrastructure and security. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMware) are a plus.
