[email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Job Description Job Title: Systems Engineer Client: NYC Metropolitan Transportation Authority (NYC MTA) Location: New York City, NY USC Type: Contract Job Overview: NYC MTA is seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in virtualization, security, and infrastructure management to help enhance and maintain the organization's IT environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in server administration, patch management, and Active Directory, along with knowledge of endpoint and physical security systems. This role involves supporting critical infrastructure with an emphasis on security and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Manage virtualized infrastructure, including VMware and virtual switch configurations. Oversee vulnerability and patch management processes to maintain a secure environment. Administer, harden, and troubleshoot Active Directory and Windows Server environments to comply with security policies. Provide insights on endpoint credential management and maintain physical access control systems. Required Skills and Experience: Virtualization and Infrastructure: Experience with VMware and virtual switch technologies. Vulnerability and Patch Management: Proven ability to manage and remediate vulnerabilities. Active Directory and Windows Server: Strong skills in administering, hardening, and managing Windows-based environments. Knowledge of (Preferred Experience): Endpoint Credential Management: Familiarity with secure credential management for endpoints. Physical Security Systems: Experience with physical access control systems. Data Analysis: Ability to perform data analysis related to IT infrastructure. Video Management Systems: Understanding of video management and integration. Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience: Cybersecurity Incident Response and Network Security: Exposure to incident response, network segmentation, Cisco networking (BGP, OSPF, Stealthwatch), and threat detection. OT Environment Security Tools: Familiarity with containment/protection tools such as Forescout. Deception Technology and Advanced Security Tools: Knowledge of honeypots, DWDM, SONET, and security tools such as Nozomi, TDI, and Gigamon. Privileged Access Management and AAA: Understanding of AAA, privileged access management, and network isolation best practices. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role, with expertise in infrastructure management and security. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Cisco) are a plus.
