Role: Datacenter Technician Work Location: Louisville, KY (Day 1 onsite) Duration: 6-12+ Months Note: The client requires 16x5 coverage throughout the week (Monday to Sunday), with off days typically on weekdays since most critical changes occur over weekends. They are specifically looking for candidates willing to work on a shift basis to meet these coverage needs. Job Description: Coverage: 16x5, Monday to Sunday, with off days during weekdays as critical changes occur on weekends. Responsibilities: Handle cabling (installation, tracing, etc.), mount/unmount network, storage, and compute devices. Provide remote connectivity for the offshore team to resolve issues across data centers/MDF rooms. Manage LAN/WAN/Wireless/Cabling/Tracing, carrier installs, and troubleshoot network devices (L1/L1.5 level). Basic configuration for remote access for the India-based team. Fiber testing, port identification, and fiber tracing. Hands-on support for Network/Compute/Storage devices at client locations. Inventory management for devices in the store and data center/MDF rooms. Effective communication skills to manage customer communications. Availability for night/weekend shifts during changes and on-call support for major incidents. Escort and accompany OEM vendors in data centers/MDFs for maintenance and troubleshooting. Physical reboot of servers, storage, and network devices as needed during critical issues. Move hardware/parts from holding areas to data centers, hand over to OEM vendors for installations/replacements, and move decommissioned devices to e-waste cages. to meet the needs of the organization.
