Role: Data Scientist Location: Albany, NY(Onsite) Duration:12+Months Client: State of NY Description Medicaid data is very complex and needs to be analyzed carefully, with deeper understanding of the data structures, entity relationships, data quality, and lineage before it can be applied for use cases surrounding policy decisions and reform initiatives. Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) performance measurement trends. Data reconciliation with health plans. Encounter data quality reporting. Review of the effectiveness of claims processing edits. COVID-19 pandemic response dashboards. Duties Provide advanced data analytics support to NYSDOH and other Medicaid stakeholders by assisting in various business functions, such as program design and evaluation, policy decisions, executive reporting, and publication. Data analytics support will be provided for the following areas, as authorized by OHIP DOS, including but not limited to: Performance measurement trend analysis. Data quality assessment. Predictive analytics using Medicaid data. Fraud and abuse detection using Medicaid data. Researching and writing whitepapers. Creating proof of concepts and models. Mandatory Requirements Experience (10+ Years) Requirements This is an 100% Onsite Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science or Data Analytics. A minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience. SQL, Advanced Excel, R or Python, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics. At least 3 years of experience in data science or data analytics.
