This professional ensures the SAP system meets business requirements, integrates seamlessly with existing processes, and complies with industry-specific regulations. The role combines expertise in SAP solutions, utility business processes, and test management methodologies to deliver a reliable and optimized system. Key Responsibilities: 1. Test Management and Strategy Develop and implement a comprehensive test strategy aligned with SAP utility solution requirements. Define and document the scope, objectives, and deliverables of the testing phase. Plan test cycles, environments, and schedules to align with project timelines. Identify critical success factors and risks related to testing. 2. Team Leadership and Coordination Manage cross-functional testing teams, including internal staff and external vendors. Provide leadership and guidance to testers, developers, and business stakeholders. Coordinate with SAP consultants and system integrators for issue resolution. 3. Test Design and Execution Develop test plans, scripts, and scenarios tailored to SAP modules such as IS-U (Industry-Specific Solutions for Utilities). Ensure comprehensive testing across modules like Billing, Customer Service, Device Management, and Metering. Oversee integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, and performance testing. 4. Stakeholder Communication and Reporting Act as the primary point of contact for testing-related queries and updates. Present test results, defects, and progress reports to project stakeholders. Manage and communicate defect resolution processes, tracking them to closure. 5. Quality Assurance and Compliance Ensure testing complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., energy sector regulations). Implement quality assurance practices to minimize production issues. 6. Continuous Improvement Recommend improvements for future SAP testing projects based on lessons learned. Incorporate automation tools and technologies for efficient testing. Key Skills and Competencies: SAP Expertise: Proficiency in SAP IS-U modules (e.g., Billing, Device Management, CRM). Testing Tools: Knowledge of tools like HP ALM, SAP Solution Manager, Worksoft, or Tricentis. Project Management: Strong planning, organizational, and resource management skills. Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with utility processes (e.g., meter-to-cash, outage management, regulatory compliance). Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Problem-Solving: Analytical skills to address complex system and integration challenges. Qualifications and Experience: Education: bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Certifications: SAP Certification in IS-U or related modules (preferred). ISTQB or similar software testing certifications. PMP or Agile certifications are advantageous. Experience: 8+ years of experience in SAP testing or implementation projects. 4+ years in a leadership or managerial role within SAP projects for utilities.
