Job Requisition: Cognex 3800 Expert - Machine Learning Vision Engineer/Lead Location: Iowa (On-site) Key Responsibilities Design and implement advanced machine learning-based computer vision algorithms for real-time meter image analysis using the Cognex 3800 platform. Develop and refine image preprocessing pipelines to enhance image quality for optimal algorithm performance. Optimize hyper-parameters to maximize model accuracy and efficiency. Conduct research-driven prompt engineering to fine-tune vision system outputs. Perform data processing tasks, including data cleaning, augmentation, and management of large image datasets. Debug, validate, and deploy solutions while ensuring compliance with the highest quality standards in computer vision. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical execution with project goals. Document all processes and findings, presenting insights and recommendations to stakeholders. Qualifications Education: Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field with a strong focus on Computer Vision or Machine Learning. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in computer vision and machine learning. Proven expertise with Cognex 3800 platform or similar industrial vision systems. Proficiency in designing and deploying end-to-end machine vision solutions. Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of image processing frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, PIL). Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn). Familiarity with real-time data processing pipelines. Expertise in working with datasets and applying data augmentation techniques to boost model performance. Knowledge of edge-computing principles for deploying lightweight ML models. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with service firms Publications in peer-reviewed computer vision conferences or journals.
