Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Java Tech Lead to join our development team. As a Tech Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical direction of Java-based applications, ensuring that the team follows best practices, maintains high standards of quality, and delivers solutions that meet business requirements. You will collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize solutions that scale and perform efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

Lead and mentor a team of Java developers in the design, development, testing, and deployment of Java-based applications.

Provide guidance on best practices for code development, architecture, testing, and deployment.

Review and ensure that the team follows coding standards and adheres to architectural guidelines.

Make technical decisions that align with business goals and ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of the system.

Architecture & Design:

Collaborate with architects and other team leads to design high-level and low-level technical solutions.

Take responsibility for defining the overall system architecture, ensuring modularity, maintainability, and security.

Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies for new features and technologies.

Oversee the technical debt management and recommend improvements to the current architecture.

Project Planning & Coordination:

Work closely with project managers and product owners to understand requirements and ensure successful project delivery within deadlines.

Break down complex technical tasks into manageable work items and prioritize them.

Track and report progress, ensuring that project milestones are met on time and within scope.

Development & Coding:

Actively contribute to coding by developing high-quality Java solutions.

Ensure code is optimized, maintainable, and scalable.

Oversee unit testing, integration testing, and debugging activities.

Contribute to continuous improvement by promoting efficient tools and practices for coding and development.

Collaboration:

Foster a collaborative environment among developers, designers, and other cross-functional teams.

Ensure proper communication of technical challenges, roadblocks, and project updates to stakeholders.

Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical team members to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.

Quality Assurance & Performance:

Enforce best practices around code quality, testing, version control, and CI/CD processes.

Monitor the performance of Java applications and optimize code and infrastructure where necessary.

Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to developers to improve code quality and ensure adherence to standards.

Mentoring & Skill Development:

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, helping them grow technically and professionally.

Promote knowledge sharing, training, and upskilling initiatives within the development team.

Stay up-to-date with the latest Java technologies, frameworks, and industry trends, and share knowledge with the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum of 15+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Java.

At least 4-5 years in a leadership or technical lead role, overseeing development teams.

Experience working with Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and others.

Proven track record of building scalable, high-performance systems and applications.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of Java (Java 8 or later) and object-oriented programming principles.

Expertise in RESTful API design and development.

Experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, ORM frameworks like Hibernate).

Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of microservices architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

Experience with version control systems like Git.

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.

Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.

Strong leadership and team-building abilities.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., Angular, React).

Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks.

Knowledge of security best practices in software development.

Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.

Education:

A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
