Role Description: This position serves as the EIM/Data Warehouse & BI Data Modeler for the Office of Mental Health. Daily Responsibilities: Review existing data models and recommend changes to support new and existing data requirements. Analyze source system data to identify data redundancy and duplication. Maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models with corresponding metadata. Perform data analysis, discovery, and profiling to identify and resolve data issues in collaboration with business teams. Review peer-created models to ensure compliance with standards. Create physical models by reverse engineering databases or DDL scripts; optimize performance with appropriate indexing (bitmap, b-tree). Implement security policies at row/table levels, adhering to HIPAA and other standards using ER/Studio. Develop and execute SQL queries for source and target system analysis. Collaborate with business owners to address data discrepancies and enhance overall data quality. Document data lineage, system flows, and other technical details about data and database design. Mandatory Qualifications: Expertise: 84+ months of experience, able to guide large teams and provide top-level industry insights. Secondary Qualifications: 66+ Months: Developing and maintaining logical/physical dimensional data models; data migration strategies; using concepts like star/snowflake schemas. 66+ Months: Proficiency with ER/Studio data modeling tool. 66+ Months: Experience in relational data management and Oracle-based development. 66+ Months: SQL programming expertise. 60+ Months: Using BI tools like OBIEE 11G. 60+ Months: Experience with ETL tools like Informatica. 60+ Months: Designing and creating healthcare Data Warehouses and BI reporting solutions. 48+ Months: Familiarity with HIPAA standards, NYS Accessibility Standards, or similar regulations. 48+ Months: Reviewing others' data modeling for compliance with standards. Education: Bachelors degree in computer science, business intelligence, information science, or related fields. Preferred Qualifications: Public sector experience, especially in Health and Human Services. Demonstrates all mandatory and desirable qualifications.
