Description:

Job Description Operations Lead

Day to Day job Duties: (what this person will do on a daily/weekly basis)

Assume ownership and end-to-end resolution of customer-initiated cases, tickets escalated from Tier 1, partner cases, as well as pervasive, critical issues in the Production environment.

Respond, analyse, diagnose, and restore services of the failing component to an operational state within the committed SLAs.

Attend the stand-up meetings and retrospectives to understand and pro-actively provide input on upcoming deployments and provide feedback on any issues from previous deployments.

Work closely with Database teams to ensure DB needs, and configurations are built into the Continuous deployment process.

Leverage and map gaps from assessed best practices and within internal RESIDEO engineering teams for re-use.

Create Dashboards in Kibana for the teams to be able to easily interpret the logs & indexes.

Engage Engineering team to re-baseline the alerts, metrics, and thresholds regularly.

Collect requirements from Engineering team & Architect, Infra Ops and Data Ops teams.

Establish Metrics & Thresholds, configure Alerts for all the KPIs and review with Business team.

Provide on-call business as usual support for client applications, perform monthly maintenance on windows application servers, plan & work on regular sprint requests.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience in fundamental aspects of cloud-based systems: virtualization, containerization, software-defined networking, security

Proven track record in troubleshooting and optimization of complex systems

Strong analytical and reasoning skills

Good communication skills - ability to listen and understand architectural needs of a product development team

Motivation and ability to independently research and implement solutions based on leading-edge technologies

Ability to work in a distributed multicultural team

Preferred skills:

DevOps - Jenkins, Octopus, CI/CD exposure 3-5 Years experience

Proven record in implementation and improvement of monitoring and observability services, including actionable alerting, SLIs/SLOs/Error budgets, Observability tools such as Elasticsearch 3-5 Years Experience.

Experience in working on application maintenance projects with specific emphasis on Agile methodologies & ceremonies, on-call support, ITIL processes such as release management, incident management. 5-7 years

Microsoft .Net application development with C# as code behind and Microsoft SQL Server experience will be an added advantage.

Travel: No Travel

Degree: Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other exact science

Nice to Have; (But not a must)

Conversational knowledge on cloud concepts (Azure), on-prem servers/ network setup, Openshift/ AKS, Prometheus.

Knowledge on IoT domain home security & comfort devices.
