(1.) To prepare the functional specification document and ensure for completeness and storage. (2.) To understand the business requirements and map it to functional specifications. (3.) To participate and facilitate the walkthrough to brief the functional specification mapping to business requirements. (4.) To prepare and / or aid the preparation of test cases in line with functional requirements (5.) Suggest design solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Analyst with expertise in data migration to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers to ensure the successful migration of data between systems. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, developing data migration plans, and ensuring data integrity throughout the migration process. Key Responsibilities: Requirement Gathering & Analysis: Engage with stakeholders to understand data migration needs and translate them into functional and technical specifications. Data Mapping & Transformation: Work with technical teams to explain data mapping requirements and assist to transform data between source and target systems, ensuring alignment with business requirements. Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data quality throughout the migration process by performing data validation, cleansing, and testing to guarantee accuracy and consistency. Migration Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with project manager and technical leads to develop detailed migration plans, timelines, and risk assessments. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure clear communication and understanding of project goals, issues, and progress. Testing & Validation: Oversee testing of migrated data and ensure that all business-critical data is accurately transferred to the new system. Process Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for data migration processes, including data definitions, mapping, release notes and migration plans. Issue Resolution: Identify and address data migration issues, proposing solutions and collaborating with relevant teams to resolve them. Change Management: Assist in managing change requirement related to the data migration, ensuring smooth adoption and minimal disruption. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a business analyst role, with a focus on data migration or data management projects. Strong understanding of data migration methodologies, tools, and best practices. Experience in working with data migration tools (e.g., Informatica) is a plus. Proficient in SQL for data validation and querying. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with both business and technical teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Insurance domain is a plus Experience in cloud-based data migration (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
