The candidate must be well versed in Linux environment and scripting, developing and maintaining 3rd party and in-house applications and experience with relational databases such as Oracle database and database tools. Must be able to debug and trace log files, Korn scripts and PL/SQL. Previous work experience in the utility industry and a general knowledge of Outage applications (or similar application) and Electric Distribution System is a plus. Candidates must be able to learn quickly, assimilate new concepts, and think analytically. Excellent communication skills are required, as the candidate will routinely interact with various business groups both within and outside of IT. Driver's license required. Preferred Skills: Bachelors degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Math/Science or Engineering) is preferred. Knowledge of the following is preferred: Linux OS, Korn or Bash scripting, PL/SQL, SQL Developer or similar tool, .Net development, Web/Windows development, Web Service, Version Control Software (git and/or TFS), SDLC, Windows OS, MS Office. Knowledge of the following is a plus: Perl, Python, WebLogic, working knowledge of Message Queueing (e.g. IBM MQ), WebSphere, Apache/IIS Some knowledge of Mapping/GIS and working knowledge of Biztalk middleware platform, SQL Server.
