State of NC Experience working for State government is highly preferred. Currently we are looking for a qualified individual to work as a Power Builder developer with our direct client in Remote/Raleigh. The NCDOT is seeking a Technical Specialist analyst/designer/developer for a 12-month engagement for the Engineering Application Services Department (EAS) to enhance and maintain a mission-critical application for the department called HiCAMS. The candidate must reside in the United States. The candidate must be willing either to use their personal computer to log into a virtual NCDOT workstation (via their Internet access using Citrix and the Cisco AnyConnect vpn) or to come to Raleigh at their expense to pick up an NCDOT laptop. Position is remote with minimal in-person engagement in the Raleigh area. Skills Experience as a PowerBuilder developer using PB10 or more recent versions. Strong SQL skills (HiCAMS uses a Sybase database but SQL skills in any database platform are acceptable). Strong Microsoft Suite experience, particularly Excel. Experience working in a remote software development environment. Strong analytical, conceptual, and technical skills. Positive interpersonal skills coupled with an independent, self-motivated work ethic. Ability to work with a custom base-class. Proven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain business processes to IT users and IT applications to business user. Previous development experience with NCDOTs HiCAMS application. Highly desired Development experience in C#. Desired Development experience in Java. Desired Development experience in C+. Desired Experience coding stored procedures and triggers (any database). Desired Experience developing .net applications and APIs in a Visual Studio environment. Desired Data conversion experience.
