Weekend Support: Be available for on-call support during weekends as per customer requirements. Change Management: Participate actively in the change management process, ensuring all changes are implemented smoothly and with minimal disruption. Job Scheduling: Schedule and monitor jobs in both Mainframe and distributed environments. Technical Consultation: Provide expert guidance and consultation to users, other support teams, and teams. JCL Development & Troubleshooting: Create and maintain JCLs. Troubleshoot issues related to job slowdowns, failures, and response times. Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts using script and Python for automation and system administration tasks. Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize system performance, focusing on improving the speed and efficiency of scheduled jobs. Incident Management: Play a key role in handling P1/P2 outages, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing business impact. Required Skills: Strong Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IBM Mainframe CPU systems (MVS/ESA), Unix/Linux (Red Hat Linux), and related technologies (TSP/ISPF, TCP/IP, SDSF, ACF/VTAM, FIIE). Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions. Performance Tuning: Experience in performance tuning Mainframe systems, including identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in scheduled jobs. Job Scheduling: Expertise in scheduling and monitoring jobs in both Mainframe and distributed environments. JCL Development: Proficiency in JCL development, including debugging and troubleshooting JCLs. Scripting: Strong scripting skills in script and Python. Database Knowledge: Basic understanding of relational databases. Knowledge of NoSQL databases is a plus. Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Incident Management: Experience in handling high-pressure situations and resolving critical incidents (P1/P2 outages) effectively. Desired Skills: Experience with Tivoli monitoring tools. Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools. Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
