Hi Everyone, Please share the strongest candidate for this role: Arc GIS Consultant State of New York (Housing Preservation and Development) Remote Maxx $80/Hour on C2C Long term Project Key Responsibilities Project Management Leadership: Oversee multiple GIS projects from inception to completion, ensuring that project deliverables meet client specifications and are delivered on time and within budget. This includes developing project plans, defining scope, and managing resources efficiently. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, maps, and presentations that clearly articulate project findings and recommendations. Data Analysis and Mapping Geospatial Analysis: Utilize ArcGIS software to analyze complex datasets, including satellite imagery, demographic data, and environmental data. Apply advanced analytical techniques such as spatial statistics and predictive modeling to derive actionable insights. Cartography: Create high-quality maps that effectively communicate spatial information. Employ cartographic principles to design maps that are not only visually appealing but also informative and easy to understand for various audiences. Data Management: Organize and maintain geospatial databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Implement best practices for data collection, storage, and retrieval. Technical Support Training: Provide training sessions and workshops for clients and team members on GIS methodologies and software applications. Develop training materials such as user manuals, video tutorials, and hands-on exercises to enhance GIS literacy. Troubleshooting: Offer ongoing technical support for GIS software issues. Diagnose problems and implement solutions promptly to minimize disruptions in workflow. Collaboration Interdisciplinary Work: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including urban planners, environmental scientists, engineers, and public health officials. Facilitate workshops to gather requirements and present findings in a manner that is accessible to non-GIS professionals. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders at various levels to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback into GIS solutions. Build strong relationships with clients to foster trust and encourage ongoing collaboration. Quality Assurance Data Validation: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of GIS data by performing rigorous quality control checks. Implement best practices for quality assurance in all aspects of GIS work. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Geography, Geographical Information Science (GIS), Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in GIS consulting or a similar role with a strong focus on ArcGIS software. Proficiency in geospatial analysis techniques, cartography, data visualization, and spatial database management. Skills Required Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex spatial data effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders. Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining a collaborative work environment. Preferred Qualifications Certification in GIS (e.g., GISP) is advantageous. Experience with web-based GIS applications (ArcGIS Online) is preferred. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or SQL for automating tasks within GIS workflows is desirable. Knowledge of environmental or urban planning principles can be beneficial.
