Kafka Architecture and Design: Design and implement a scalable, resilient, and secure Kafka architecture. Define best practices for Kafka topic design, partitions, replication, and retention policies. Cloud Infrastructure Development: Architect cloud solutions to support Kafka in a high-availability environment. Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to build robust Kafka infrastructure. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. System Integration and Deployment: Integrate Kafka with various upstream and downstream systems. Deploy, monitor, and manage Kafka clusters and associated components like Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, and schema registry. Performance Optimization: Optimize Kafka performance and throughput for real-time data processing. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kafka brokers, producers, and consumers. Development and Collaboration: Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications. Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interfaces of desired products. Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration, scalability, reliability, and feasibility. Leadership and Oversight: Define all aspects of development, from appropriate technologies and tools/platforms to workflows and coding standards. Successfully communicate all concepts and guidelines to the development team. Oversee progress of the development team to ensure consistency with initial design. Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers. Quality Assurance: Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, etc. Approve the final product before launch. Must-Have Skills: AWS Cloud Kubernetes Microservices MongoDB Kafka Spring Boot DevOps Jenkins React Node.js GraphQL OAuth Good-to-Have Skills: Azure/GCP Linode Camunda/Activiti Redux JHipster Swagger/OpenAPI Jest/Mocha Selenium/Cypress Confluent Qualifications: Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in cloud architecture and distributed systems, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience with Kafka. Technical Skills: Proficient in designing and managing Kafka clusters at scale. Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and real-time streaming. Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes). Solid understanding of DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines. Strong scripting and programming skills (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala). Soft Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to lead teams and mentor junior engineers. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
