Job Title: Data Modelor
Location: Charlotte, NC
Contract 
Summary:
The Data Modelor is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing effective data models that support the organization's business intelligence and analytics needs. This role requires a strong understanding of data warehousing principles, dimensional modeling, and data integration techniques. The ideal candidate will be a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities:
Data Modeling:
Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for data warehouses, data marts, and other data stores.
Define data entities, attributes, relationships, and constraints.
Apply dimensional modeling techniques (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema) to optimize data for analysis.
Ensure data models are aligned with business requirements and support analytical reporting and decision-making.
Data Integration:
Design and implement data integration processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
Work with data engineers to ensure data quality and integrity.
Develop and maintain data pipelines and data flows.
Data Governance:
Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
Maintain data dictionaries and other data documentation.
Ensure data quality and consistency across the organization.
Communication and Collaboration:
Collaborate with business analysts, data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data models.
Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Present data modeling solutions and recommendations to stakeholders.
Research and Development:
Research and evaluate new data modeling tools and technologies.
Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in data modeling and data warehousing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Data Modeler or in a related role.
Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, dimensional modeling, and data integration techniques.
Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner, SQL Developer).
Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, R).
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
