Quality Assurance Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Quality Assurance Manager is a key member of the site leadership team, responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured meet the highest safety and quality standards. This role involves implementing quality systems, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in food, supplement, or related industries and a strong understanding of industry standards such as SQF, FDA (FSMA), and HACCP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and oversee all aspects of Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
Foster a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement across the facility.
Implement and maintain programs aligned with 3rd party industry standards (e.g., SQF, AIB).
Lead SQF, FSMA, and HACCP initiatives, including training and advising teams.
Perform risk assessments on new ingredients and maintain HACCP registers.
Develop, review, and enforce GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, and SSOPs to ensure product integrity.
Conduct and lead regulatory and customer audits, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
Work closely with R&D and Production teams on new product launches and process improvements.
Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods for process evaluation and enhancement.
Drive employee development through training initiatives and quality awareness programs.
Establish a Continuous Improvement Plan based on data trends, customer feedback, and audit results.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelors degree in food science or a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years in Food, Supplement, or a related manufacturing industry.
Certifications (Preferred): PCQI and HACCP certification.
Knowledge of: SQF, FDA (FSMA), HACCP, and other regulatory guidelines.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; standing, walking, and reaching required.
