Job Role: IT Deployment Manager Duration: Part Time Location: Remote Interview: Video These are 100% remote and dont need to be cleared, candidates just need to be clearable for United States DoD Clearances. Candidates can be very junior. Note: Part time, 20+ hours a week. Role Overview: The IT Deployment Manager must have experience in leading a team in the fielding of IT systems, networks, hardware and software of both a simple and complex nature. They must have extensive knowledge in the creation of deployment plans, the creation of cost, schedule and performance expectations based on input from all team members. They must be able to identify all activities required in the near, mid and long term phases of a program. Their experience must be in a wide variety of environments and equipment. The IT Deployment Manager must have experience in planning in order to ensure that deployment can be performed on schedule and with the available resources. Minimum Requirements: Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies like Agile and Waterfall. Ability to plan, schedule, and track deployment projects. Skill in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources. Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, and storage systems. Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and virtualization technologies. Familiarity with various software applications and databases. Deployment Strategies: Experience with different deployment strategies, such as rolling deployments, blue- deployments, and canary deployments. Ability to choose the most appropriate deployment strategy for specific scenarios. Understanding of change management processes and procedures. Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve deployment issues. Ability to think critically and analyze complex problems. Experience in working under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Ideal candidates will also have: Proficiency in scripting languages like Power, Python, or Bash to automate deployment tasks. Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet. Ability to use automation tools to streamline deployment processes and reduce errors.
