Job Title : MySQL Database Administrator Employment Type : Contract, C2C Location : Minneapolis, MN Remote : 100% Remote Job Description Key Responsibilities: Independently perform all aspects of relational database management for MySQL and Oracle/MS SQL, including but not limited to installation, configuration, patching, migration, PLM/upgrade, and operational support in on-premises and public cloud environments. Automate repeatable database tasks using scripting, Chef and/or Ansible to drive efficiency, enhance quality and reduce human errors. Design and implement effective backup and recovery strategy for databases to ensure timely restoration, as needed. Establish and maintain database security policies, manage user access, and monitor databases to ensure data is protected from unauthorized access, ransomware. or breeches. Design and implement strategies to ensure high availability and database resiliency in the event of a disaster. Proactively analyze database systems for performance tuning, remove bottlenecks, and make recommendations to reduce database response times and enhance efficiency. Required Skills: At least 5 years of experience with all aspects of MySQL database management on UNIX, including but not limited to installation, configuration, patching, migration, PLM/upgrade, and operational support. 5+ years of on-call experience in supporting multiple mission critical MySQL production databases. 3+ years of experience in developing scripts and Chef recipes to automate database installs and maintenance activities on UNIX platform. 3+ years of experience in supporting Oracle databases on UNIX, or MS SQL databases on Windows.
