They are using AI All conversations are sent to TGP for AI-driven analysis (e.g., "This call is being recorded for quality assurance"). Before 2020, analysis was done manuallyAI now processes 100% of calls vs. 3% manually before. Paid per call analyzed AI-driven automation has fueled massive growth: 2020 valuation: $12M Current valuation: $200M$300M+ AI went live in 2021, rolling out gradually. Recently secured investors. Leadership & Hiring Trends CEO named their AI platform Anna after her grandmother, who raised her. Historically relied on consultants but switched to W2 hiring after a bad vendor experience. Not happy with ADP as their payroll provider. Recently downsized, cutting 150 jobs due to AI efficiencies. Previously hired a high-end AI engineer, but it didnt work out. Discovery of Needs & Key Stakeholders Initial conversation was with Tommy (CTO). Tommy introduced Joseph (CIO) today, as Joseph is overseeing these initiatives. Immediate Need: Kubernetes / Knative / Apache Kafka Current person handling these technologies is not proficient in any of them. When two or more issues happen at once, it creates chaos. Ideal candidate: SME-level expert in Kubernetes, Knative, and Kafka. Tech stack is AI-heavy, focusing on chatbots/voice recognition. Anna (TPG platform) has been in place for a while and is highly profitable. Goal: Consolidate multiple small servers into a large-scale system using Kubernetes. Joseph (CIO) is overseeing this initiative. Potential Future Needs (On the Back Burner for Now) DBA Needs: Transitioning toward PostgreSQL, interested in a DBA with engineering expertise beyond administration. Security Operations: Expressed interest in part-time, low-hour support, potentially Cisco-related, but no immediate action. Challenges & Decision Points Single-threaded team No one internally can fully handle all three Kubernetes-related needs. Havent found a strong Kubernetes/Knative/Kafka resource yet. Deciding whether to: Make the existing team work weekends Expand the team Augment with contractors Joseph (CIO) has been complaining about infrastructure issues for a while. Next Steps Present available Kubernetes / Knative / Kafka candidates to Joseph. Continue discussions with Joseph (CIO) on infrastructure needs.
