Job Description - Role : Databricks Administrator Location - REMOTE Visa - USC, H1B ONLY After submitting the profiles for Databricks Administrator role, we got the feedback that client is looking at someone who has Strictly worked as an Administrator role for most of their job roles (not developers/engineers). This position needs coverage for Admins only. Key Responsibilities: Deploy, configure, and maintain Azure Databricks workspaces Manage clusters, pools, and jobs for optimal performance. Handle Databricks Runtime upgrades and compatibility testing. Configure Databricks notebooks, Repos, and Delta Lake for efficient workflows. Implement Identity and Access Management (IAM) using Azure AD / Azure IAM / SCIM. Set up and enforce Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and network security. Ensure compliance with data governance policies (Unity Catalog, creation of Catalogs, schema etc.). Applying grants of catalogs and schemas Manage personal access tokens (PATs) and OAuth-based authentication. Monitor cluster performance, auto-scaling, and cost optimization. Analyze and fine-tune Spark jobs to improve execution efficiency. Use Databricks SQL for querying and performance diagnostics. Integrate Databricks with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Snowflake, Kafka, and other data sources. Automate cluster management using Terraform. Implement CI/CD pipelines for Databricks notebooks using GitHub or Azure DevOps. Investigate and resolve job failures, cluster crashes, and query performance issues. Provide L2/L3 support for Databricks infrastructure issues. Collaborate with Databricks support for bug fixes and escalations. Security & Access Control: Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Integration & Automation: Troubleshooting & Support: Collaboration & Integration: Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to support data pipelines and analytics workloads. Integrate Databricks with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Snowflake. Provide technical guidance and best practices for efficient Spark job execution and cost optimization. Required Skills & Experience: 5+ years of experience in Azure Databricks administration and performance optimization. Expertise in Apache Spark, PySpark, SQL, and Scala. Hands-on experience with Databricks Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and MLflow. Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services (Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Key Vault, etc.).
