Description : This position will be hybrid. Each week, the individual will work 4 days remotely and 1 day on site. The on-site location is 200 Arlington Street in Chelsea. Summary of the Position This posting is for an Applications Developer to assist A&F IT. A&F IT is a unit under the Executive Office for Administration and Finance and is overseen by the A&F IT Secretariat Chief Information Officer (A&F SCIO). A&F IT supports 15 A&F agencies to ensure their IT operations are running effectively and efficiently. A&F IT is seeking a motivated, experienced Applications Developer to join its Enterprise Services team. In this position, the individual will design, develop and implement applications that are both internal and external facing. In addition to developing new systems, the individual may be required to update existing applications. This position requires that the candidate be skilled in ASP.NET, C#, XML, Oracle, SQL Server and able to design, develop and support existing applications. Preferred skills include experience in the Microsoft 365 Power Platform and the ability to leverage Power Apps to create interactive dashboards and canvases to automate workflows. Key Responsibilities : Work as part of a technical team and be involved in the application design, development, build, unit testing and deployment by using ASP.NET, C#, MVC, XML, Oracle, SQL Server, jQuery and web services. Analyze requirements and data to make appropriate recommendations. Thoroughly test all code to ensure that programs are functioning correctly. Develop and test stored procedures, user defined functions, triggers and other objects that assist in the implementation of business rules/logic. Write ad-hoc queries. Develop solutions in Microsoft Power Platform by using Power Automate, Power BI and SharePoint. Assist power users to build and maintain their own Power Platform solutions. Create IT documents for knowledge base, user guides and other various communications systems. Follow established business, technical and project policies and guidelines aligned with A&F and EOTSS principles and standards to include the following: use of best practices, meeting management, project plans, status reports and dashboards, risk and issue tracking, change requests and resource management. Collect data and report on technical metrics to be used to determine success factors using established project tools and processes during development and support. Qualifications : Minimum 5 years experience with ASP.NET, C#, XML, Web API, MVC and Oracle Expert-level JavaScript/jQuery. Experience in database design using Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. Experience in Web Services (SOAP or REST) and WSDL. Experience configuring and implementing Power Apps. Experience with integration, deployments and troubleshooting. Experience with advanced query design, stored procedures, views and functions. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage timelines and tasks. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with technical and business resources at many levels in a manner that supports progress and success. Ability to understand, appreciate and adapt to new business cultures and ways of working. Ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
