Job Title: Sr Data Analyst Experience: 8 - 12 years required Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid) Contract: 4 months Share Resumes To: [email protected] About the Role: This role focuses on creating and managing metadata, maintaining the Commonwealth's Business Glossary, and supporting data governance functions. The ideal candidate will have experience with data tools like Purview or Informatica, SQL, and Excel, along with a strong understanding of data governance and security practices. Responsibilities: Maintain and administer the Commonwealth's Business Glossary and data catalog. Support the implementation and consumption of metadata and data modeling tools. Capture and derive data lineage for strategic data assets. Collaborate with business analysts to identify critical data elements and document metadata. Perform metadata and data quality audits, resolving issues and gaps as needed. Use Power Platform to automate agency workflows. Utilize task tracking tools like JIRA to keep stakeholders updated on progress. Assist in emergency situations as directed by the supervisor. Qualifications: 2+ years of experience as a data analyst, collecting, organizing, and managing data using tools like Purview or Informatica. Proficiency in SQL and understanding of data and systems' infrastructures. Strong ability to create Excel formulas and manage complex spreadsheets (Pivot tables and other analyst tools are a plus). Knowledge of data governance, security practices, and big-data processing tools. Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to meet Conflict-of-Interest Act requirements and pass a fingerprint background check. Preferred Skills: Azure and/or Data certifications. Experience with Power Platforms. Familiarity with data protection technologies like data discovery, labeling, inventory, CASB, and Microsoft Purview. Knowledge of information rights management and data loss prevention.
