The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining database systems on Azure Stack Hub, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance. Key Responsibilities: Database Administration: Manage and maintain SQL Server and MySQL databases hosted on Azure Stack Hub and other cloud/on-premises environments. Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and optimize SQL Server and MySQL on Azure Stack. Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, query tuning, and indexing strategies. Backup & Recovery: Implement highly available disaster recovery (HADR) solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity. Security & Compliance: Implement robust security policies, encryption, access controls, and compliance best practices. Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts using Power, T-SQL, or Terraform to automate database management tasks. Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other monitoring tools to track database health and troubleshoot performance issues. Upgrades & Patching: Plan and execute database version upgrades, patching, and migrations with minimal downtime. Collaboration: Work closely with developers, cloud engineers, and IT teams to support application development and deployments. Required Skills & Qualifications: 10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) (Must). Strong expertise in SQL Server and MySQL database administration. Hands-on experience with Azure Stack Hub, Azure SQL Database, and hybrid cloud environments. Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, Power scripting, and automation tools. Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics. Strong understanding of database replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms. Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Experience with database security, GDPR, HIPAA, and other compliance frameworks. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent certification. Experience with NoSQL databases like Cosmos DB, MongoDB, or Cassandra. Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for database deployment.
