This role offers the opportunity to support a large, diverse database environment involving systems like Sybase ASE, UDB DB2, Sybase IQ, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, and Paraccel. While prior experience with all databases is not required, candidates should have proficiency in at least 1-2 database platforms. Key Responsibilities: Perform Database Administration and Operational Support as part of the Technology Services Operations team. Provide production support for a variety of databases, including Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, UDB DB2, Sybase Replication, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, and more. Administer and maintain local and global database infrastructure, including implementation, support, and periodic upgrades. Monitor system health and performance, scheduling maintenance tasks using Autosys. Perform root cause analysis for system failures and incidents, providing solutions for remediation. Work closely with application support and IT teams to resolve critical requests promptly. Carry out daily monitoring for health checks, application alerts, and replication issues. Handle provisioning activities, user requests, and resolution alerts. Participate in business continuity tests for database infrastructure across regions. Adhere to company change management policies and create operational procedures. Manage small-scale database projects, including datacenter migrations and the end-of-life process for database software and hardware. Provide training for the database team globally. Perform basic file system administration tasks on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Required Skills and Experience: 3+ years of experience in Database Administration or a related role. Experience with multiple database platforms, particularly Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, DB2, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MSSQL, and Oracle. Strong experience in database maintenance, replication, and performance tuning. Experience with job scheduling tools like Autosys and cron jobs. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Experience in a high-availability database environment, preferably in finance, banking, or a similar domain. Ability to work weekends with any two consecutive days off. Additional Skills (for Specific Platforms): For DB2 Candidates: Expertise in UDB/DB2 administration, maintenance, and implementation. Strong experience with DB2 Replication (SQL Rep, Q Replication). Knowledge of DB2 HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery), version upgrades, and transportable tablespaces. For Sybase Candidates: Extensive experience with Sybase ASE and Sybase IQ database administration, maintenance, and replication (Sybase Replication Server). Proficiency in performance tuning and distributed database management systems.
