Principal Cloud Engineer Platform & CDN
Location: Miramar, FL or Dallas, TX Hybrid
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire (US Citizens only)

CDN Engineering must have
Experience with Fastly (a CDN SaaS platform)
Other CDN experience (e.g., CloudFront, Akamai) is acceptable if no Fastly experience.
Role Overview
As a Principal Engineer Platform & CDN Engineering, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of cloud-native platform solutions, with a strong focus on Fastly CDN, AWS cloud infrastructure, and microservices architectures (serverless and container-based). Youll play a pivotal role in ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing digital experiences across global environments.

Key Responsibilities
Scope and Impact
Architect and implement Fastly CDN strategies to optimize performance, reduce latency, and improve scalability.
Develop and optimize AWS-based microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js.
Leverage AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, EKS, and Fargate for serverless and container orchestration.
Enhance API performance and security through edge computing and modern caching strategies.
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with built-in observability and performance monitoring.
Strategic Contribution
Define and execute cloud and CDN strategies aligned with business goals.
Promote modern AWS networking practices, multi-region deployments, and routing optimization.
Collaborate with SRE teams on monitoring, logging, and incident response strategies.
Drive cost-efficient, reliable microservices deployments at scale.
Delivery & Leadership
Oversee Fastly CDN integration and distributed architecture lifecycle.
Optimize API gateways, proxy layers, and routing mechanisms for scale and security.
Enforce best practices in WAF, DDoS mitigation, bot management, and secure content delivery.
Implement automated failover and traffic management strategies across AWS regions.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
14+ years in platform/cloud engineering or CDN architecture.
Expertise in Fastly CDN (edge logic, caching, traffic acceleration).
Proficiency in AWS services: EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront.
Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi (Infrastructure as Code).
Strong understanding of AWS networking, DNS, and performance optimization.

Key Skills & Technologies
Fastly CDN: Advanced edge logic, caching, routing, shielding, WAF.
AWS Microservices: Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, serverless & container orchestration.
Module Federation & Micro Frontends.
CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Harness.
Monitoring & Observability: Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana.
Security: WAF, bot mitigation, TLS, API security best practices.
Traffic Management: Load balancing, API gateways, AWS networking.
