[email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Job Description - Tittle: SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (AZURE) LOCATION: ONSITE 100%, TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA (local Only) TERM: ASAP-6/30/25 WITH RENEWAL YEARS ELIGIBLE MOI: MS Team Need one candidate only with Visa & DL (Must have State Client Exp) Description/Deliverables The Department's OIT is seeking the services of an experienced Systems Administrator under the working title of Azure Cloud Engineer. The Candidate will be required to successfully complete tasks in relation to the Scope of Work defined in Section 2.3. Scope of Work/Job Characteristics The Azure Cloud Engineer shall serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the Department. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows: Develop and maintain processes that optimize Microsoft Azure resources; Analyze Azure resource performance to identify resource contention, and recommend changes or upgrades as needed to ensure optimization; Perform Microsoft Entra identification management activities; Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation; Work with data center staff, OIT, and users to perform Azure resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes; Assist Azure application owners/administrators and users with appropriate application access; Train infrastructure team members on Azure and Azure best practices as required; Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows and Linux server issues with minimal impact on users; Write Power scripts to be used to monitor server properties and perform Active Directory and Azure management activities; Administer and configure Azure infrastructure security as needed for OIT staff and users; Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements; Provide recommendations for possible process improvements within the Departments infrastructure team; Create schedules for the development and implementation of specific software systems; and Perform additional Systems Administrator tasks as required by the Department. NOTE: This position is designated as essential staff and is expected to report for duty when instructed to do so in times of emergency or potential emergency as required by section 33-208.002 (4), Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.) Work Environment Location The work will be conducted on-site with the Department's OIT in the Carlton Building at 501 South Calhoun Street, Tallahassee, Florida. Requirements/Qualifications The Department is seeking a full-time, on-site Azure Cloud Engineer throughout the PO term of this RFQ. The positions required qualifications and preferred qualifications are described in Sections 4.1 and 4.2 and must be verifiable in the Candidates resume. NOTE: Any successful Candidate with access to the Department's network is required to complete the Department's Security Awareness Training within 30 calendar days of hire. Required Qualifications A bachelors or masters degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. Alternatively, four (4) years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for the educational requirement. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable. The Department requires the following experience, skills, and knowledge for this position: Five (5) or more years of Windows server experience; Three (3) or more years of Microsoft Azure or Cloud experience; Expertise with branching strategy, CI/CD pipeline implementation with Azure pipelines, and version control across environments with Azure repositories; Three (3) or more years of Linux server experience; Server administration experience with three (3) or more years administering Windows 2016 and newer; Five (5) or more years of experience with Active Directory and Domain Name System (DNS) administration in an enterprise environment with 1,000 or more users; Experience writing, testing, and executing Power scripts; Experience working in a virtual server or Cloud environment; and Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting third party applications. Certification in Agile or Scrum-based Project Management; IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Management Foundations Certified; Experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base; Experience developing and managing schedules for multiple projects; Experience managing waterfall projects; Experience with state government projects; Experience managing and reporting projects in compliance with Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C.; Experience working with technical programming teams; Ability to demonstrate a professional can-do attitude with the initiative to solve complex problems; Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders; Skills in facilitation and team building; Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment; Knowledge in other IT areas such as programming and data analytics etc.; A team player attitude with a high-energy level and diligent work ethic; and Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and organize and prioritize activities. NOTE: In addition to the above list, the selected Candidate must successfully complete a Level II Background Check.
