UID: 9b731466da954d26a71527a6882704bc Job Title: Full Stack Developer Location: Minneapolis, MN (Local Only) Visa type: USC & GC on C2C (No H1B/CPT/OPT) Interview Process: 30-minute screening with hiring manager 1-hour technical interview with team members Department Overview: This role is within the App Growth & Strategy team, which focuses on promoting Best Buy's mobile app to customers through various channels, including exclusive features and functionality built for the app. We are looking for a senior engineer with a strong web development background, as well as the ability to seamlessly work with different technologies, tools, and systems. Project Description: Define requirements and lead the development, integration, testing, and support of features on Best Buy's mobile app. Evaluate new software technologies, libraries, frameworks, and services to ensure the development team stays current with industry trends and standards. Take ownership of the software your team builds, focusing on delivering the best possible customer experience. Coordinate with engineers in other teams to define API contracts, establish working relationships, and debug problems across services. Key Responsibilities: Lead and contribute to the development of mobile app features, ensuring high-quality deliverables. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and technical solutions. Ensure that software is built to best practices, with clean, well-documented code. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, contributing to continuous improvement within the team. Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry standards, evaluating their relevance to the teams needs. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 7+ years of hands-on experience in: Development with React in JavaScript and/or TypeScript. Working with REST APIs and/or GraphQL. Experience with DevOps automation tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and software version control (Git). Familiarity with testing frameworks. 10+ years of relevant professional experience. 5+ years of experience with mobile app development, particularly with React Native. 2+ years of experience as a senior engineer/team lead, including mentoring and coaching junior engineers. Desired Qualities: A strong sense of ownership over your work and the ability to manage expectations regarding estimates and quality. A growth mindset, constantly striving to learn and improve. Mentoring and teaching skills, with the ability to listen, learn, and share knowledge. Strong problem-solving skills, able to work through new and difficult issues. Ability to write clean, well-documented code and collaborate effectively within a team. Skills the Hiring Manager is Looking For: Strong experience in mobile app development with React Native. Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team. Prior experience leading teams or projects and mentoring junior engineers.
