Monitor and optimize database performance, queries, and indexing strategies. Implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies using Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and Replication. Manage database security , including user authentication, role-based access control (RBAC), and encryption. Perform regular backups, restores, and data recovery in Azure Blob Storage, Managed Backups, and Log Shipping. Automate database administration tasks using Power, T-SQL, and Azure Automation. Migrate on-premises SQL databases to Azure , ensuring minimal downtime. Work with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for database deployments. Monitor Azure SQL databases using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Query Store. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring 99.99% uptime. Implement best practices for database design, indexing, partitioning, and resource optimization. experience as a SQL Server DBA with at least 2+ years in Azure SQL database administration. Strong knowledge of Azure SQL Database, SQL Server on Azure VMs, and SQL Managed Instance. Hands-on experience with performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and execution plans. Expertise in HA/DR strategies such as Always On, Failover Clustering, Replication, and Geo-Replication. Experience with backup & recovery solutions, including Point-in-Time Restore. Scripting experience with T-SQL, Power, and Azure CLI. Familiarity with Azure services such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Security Center, and Azure DevOps. Experience with database migrations using Azure Data Migration Service (DMS) and SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA). Knowledge of database security best practices, including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Data Masking. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a 24/7 production environment.
